Onshore Bonds
Onshore bonds allow several investors to pool together their money and invest it in specific assets. It means that a person with limited finances is still able to invest in something that is usually on the scale of industrial fund managers. Onshore bonds are generally considered single premium investments, but they do allow the investors to add to them on a regular basis, or as required.
The primary type of onshore bonds: ‘Unit linked’ offer the investor a wide range of funds to choose from and they allow the investor to switch between a fund manager and the funds without an extra charge. They potentially deliver a larger return but they are riskier and sway with the changes in the market.
Onshore bonds are not as tax efficient for capital growth as some other structures and therefore primarily appeal to investors seeking income.
